What our customers have to say
Glazing Repair
Excellent service all round. It was very quick and simple to get a quote and booked in. Due to the nature of the repair it needed to be done when the temperature improved and was dry. They booked us in as soon as the conditions were right and completed the job quickly and to a very high standard. I'd highly recommend them!
Patio Doors
I’m so happy to find an excellent local tradesman. I had problems with my patio doors in my loft room. Barry Major turned up on time and completed the work to perfection. This made me so happy as two other Trades people said they’d have to install new doors. The doors are now functioning properly, no fuss, no mess and at an excellent price. Thank you so much, so glad we found you.
Conservatory Remodelling
Barry and the team were always professional and helpful through out the process. Barry was always more than happy to answer any of our questions and always put our minds at ease. During the job the whole team arrived on time, kept the house tidy and were always polite and considerate. Each stage of the job was completed to an excellent standard and if there were any queries / issues they were always resolved quickly. We are very pleased with the final outcome and would highly recommend Major Glass and Glazing.
Windows Supply & Fit
Major Glass was recommended to us, deservedly so. They listened to what we wanted, accommodated special requests and gave good advice where appropriate. There was no hard sell at any point and the price quoted was fair. The installation team was great - knowledgeable, hard-working and friendly. There were a couple of hiccups, caused by uncontrollable situations, but these were resolved quickly and to everybody's satisfaction. Our home was treated with respect and left tidy every evening. Everyone, Barry, the guys and Sam in the office, was great. We can't recommend them highly enough.
Cat Flap Installation
Great communication throughout the process (they actually reply to you for a start!), and job was done quickly and efficiently. All in all a very smooth process - thank you.
Frequently Asked Questions
What window profile do you install?
We install a profile called Kommerling which is German and regarded as one of the best on the market. If you want to see 14 reasons why, Kommerling click here.
Are the windows Energy A rated?
Yes, all our windows are Energy A efficient. A rated means 1.2 U value. To put this perspective a cavity wall without insulation has a U value of 1.7 or older double glazed windows 2.8 to 3 U value. Some larger companies offer an A+ rating which has more selling potential than actual gain. The current scale is 0.2 in U values however an A+ window does not achieve a 1.0 Value.
Are the products made locally?
Yes, they are, this is important as parts can be easily collected or delivered if needed during installation. Companies that deliver from further afield usually have set delivery days so installations could be held up by parts being on a scheduled delivery.
Is the company properly registered?
Yes, we are a registered business on Companies House, we are also VAT registered (any company that exists in our industry should be VAT registered due to turnover over the course of a year). We are also a registered installer with Fensa and we automatically offer you an insurance backed guarantee through registering your Install with Fensa.
Are the staff all employed?
Yes, they are and have all been with us over 8 years. You may think this is a strange question but many companies in our industry use subcontractors. We have in the past and still do on large commercial projects. However, a subcontractor can move from company-to-company week by week or even day by day which means the installer is not 100% committed to the company they are installing for. This is not always the case but is something to be aware of.
